Words of Inspiration and Motivation
“You are the stars and the world is watching you. By your
presence you send a message to every village, every city, every nation. A
message of hope. A message of victory. The right to play on any playing field?
You have earned it. The right to study in any school? You have earned it. The
right to hold a job? You have earned it. The right to anyone's neighbor? You
have earned it.”

"Feel the spirit of peace and hope that fills our arena tonight. That spirit is in the hearts of the thousands of volunteers and coaches who serve in Special Olympics. They have learned that the meaning of life is to give it away freely and it will be given back a hundred fold."

"This program, like so many others, will succeed in proportion as it is supported by voluntary assistance and understanding from all of our people. So we are going to need a million good neighbors--volunteers--who will give their time for a few hours each week caring for these children, helping in a hundred ways to draw out their potentials. We need housewives and coeds. We need teachers and doctors. We need men and women of all walks and all interests to lend their talents, their warmth, their hands, and their hearts."

“Every year there was always a specific challenge that I was in charge of. I had to meet it. I had to meet it for me. In terms of what I was modeling for my staff. And what they would be taking away ….I had to meet it for the families…I owe the families my best.”

I chose the same quote from Eunice Kennedy Shriver. I love that is gives all people a sense of empowerment and capability. Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteYes, I really enjoyed Eunice Kennedy Shriver's quotes so much that I could not choose only 1 or 2. I agree she does give people a sense of empowerment. I sense that she truly believed everyone can achieve something.
DeleteI love the first quote. People with disabilities have every right to do the things that everyone else can do. They shouldn't be held back because of their disability. So empowering!
ReplyDeleteChannette,
