According to the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment "To share resources with  co workers,  collaborating  to ensure that the best possible early childhood care and  education program is provided." This statement is significant to my professional life because in order to provide the youth in my care with the most opportunities available to them I must collaborate with my colleagues. There have been many times I was not aware that something was occurring for the youth in my care. I depend on my colleagues to share information with me. In addition, I share information with them. There is always something new and exciting that could be potential used to provide better care and education to our program.   During my childhood, the five people who nurtured and cared about me the most were Chester, Lillian, Angela, Cedric, and Darryl.   Chester Ingram is my grandfather.                                                                              My grandfather was a sweet man that gave me anything I wanted.   Lillian Ingram is my grandmother.   My grandmother gave me anything I wanted, but she was the disciplinary person in my life.   I only got into trouble a couple times in my childhood.   However, each time I was given my consequence from my grandmother.   Angela Ingram is my mother.     My mother always provided me with love and attention.   Cedric Ingram and Darryl Ingram are my uncles.    Darryl Cedric My uncles always encoura...

 

   I provide childcare for youth who parents leave on deployment all the time. Sometimes parents leave for a few months, Other times they leave for a few years. However, each time they are leaving a child behind. It is my responsibility to be apart of that youth's support system. For each child has a special relationship with their parent. It touches my heart when I hear the stories they share with me about their parent. It touches me on a deep level because, I was a child like them that had a parent in the military that left all the time. I am honored to be able to help them with the transition they must experience when their parent leaves. Also, take a lot of pride in helping the youth keep in touch with their parents while they are on deployment. Therefore, I am not touched in my heart by one child. I am touched by many children and the resiliency they have developed as military children.

  When I was a child the Berenstain Bears book series where my favorite. Even now when I see them at the store they are the first that I will pick up and grab for a child. I am not sure why I love them so much. It could of been because I loved bears as child. Also, it could of been because I remember reading them with my mother. However, I do love that the books from the Berenstain Bears collection always have a life lesson at the end of them.
